About Us

Congregation Etz Chayim is an Orthodox synagogue in Toledo, Ohio. It is affiliated with the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America. It was established through the merger of three older congregations.

The synagogue is led by Rabbi Evan Rubin, who also serves as Cantor. It conducts Sabbath and Holiday services, daily morning and evening services, Sunday religious school, and adult education classes.

A Mikva is located on the premises of Etz Chayim and reservations for its use can be made by calling the office.

The synagogue is proud to host an active Sisterhood and Men's Club.

Spirituality - Members and guests come to Etz Chayim to participate in services, including the recitation of kaddish for departed loved ones. Services are held twice daily in the Feldstein Chapel and on Shabbat and all Yom Tovim in the Edward and Sara Garsek Sanctuary.

Daily Services: 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Sunday Morning Services: 8:30 a.m.
Holiday/Shabbat morning: 9:00 a.m.

Shabbat morning services culminate with a kiddush, often sponsored by a member to honor or memorialize a loved one or to celebrate a simcha.

Every Shabbat between November and March, members and guests share in Shalosh Seudot, the third Shabbat meal, on Saturday evening.
