Don’t sweat the small stuff. It is so often said today it has become a cliché. In our family,
though, it has real meaning. Three days before Yom Kippur, Kerry and I were blessed with another daughter, Chana Esther. Unfortunately, they discovered during Yom Kippur that the baby was having seizures. Needless to say emotions were rather intense. Chanah Esther was moved to the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) where she was examined by neonatologists and neurologists, as well as being subjected to numerous tests. Fortunately it appears that her condition is not serious. She was able to come home for Sukkot, where she is currently thriving. Our family is very grateful to the Holy One Blessed be He, for watching over our new baby, in addition to being very pleased with the care she received at the Toledo Children’s Hospital. We hope and pray that she grows into a wonderful person achieving all of life’s blessings. So just remember: Don’t sweat the small stuff! Evan B. Rubin |
